As some you might now already we had quite the adventure trying to get to Utah for the EFCA biannual youth conference. We were all packed and ready to head out for our 6:30 Sunday morning flight to Dallas then to Salt Lake City. However, God had, as usual, much much bigger plans for us. My Dad (aka Pastor Steve) was awoken to a 3 o'clock morning call informing him of bad weather over Dallas...leaving all the morning flights canceled. So, around 4:45 they told the group - and we prayed and deciced to head on over to the airport anyway...and wait for God's timing on getting to Utah, somehow -His way!
I personally was so amazed with how relaxed the leaders were, they stayed calm despite the chaos. Once at the airport Uncle Joel, Uncle Terry, and Pastor Steve, immediately went to the counter and bargained with the desk to get us new tickets. We knew that in order to get us all there in a timely manner we'd have to be split up. Thankfully though, to make a long story short, God worked it out and by Monday afternoon everybody had made it to Salt Lake City.
The most amazing thing that we learned from this experience was to just trust God...it makes life so much easier. Throughout the entire time when we all could have been stressed out but instead we let God's peace just surround us.
I was very blessed to be able to make it to the whole conference - actually the men willingly let all the women go first - and although this was my third EFCA Challenge conference it was a entirely different experience. Hopefully, in time I can get everyone from our team to share something they learned/experienced. I know God revealed Himself differently to each of us.
Thank you once again for all of your prayers and encouragement! Please continue to pray that each of us will put into action all that we learned. Don't be afraid to ask what we've learned - challenge us to practice and apply our new found skills and lessons.
We are the leaders of this generation - wether we want to be or not - but the world is watching!
I can't wait to see what God will do!
